About Us

Clark Fork Trout is located in St. Regis Montana along the quiet and scenic Clark Fork River. We maintain a cadre of highly experienced guides that understand the waters we fish along with the needs of each client. Our western Montana location offers access to the Clark Fork , Bitterroot and Blackfoot rivers. We enjoy early season fishing over hearty Rainbows by sight casting Skwalas and after runoff work dries to Cuts and Bows.

The Fly Shop

The Fly Shop in located at 715 Hwy #135 in St Regis, Montana. Our shop is open Thursday – Sunday. Stock up on lots of great fly choices for next season like the new Jigs that many of our guides are using this season under a hopper dropper setup. We are an Orvis retailer and Redington Rio products dealer along with lots of fishing gear for the river. Need to shop outside of hours? Call Steve and Peggy at 406-382-0161. If we’re not on the river, we’ll come meet you!

Meet the Owners

Steve and Peggy Temple live in Superior, Montana along the banks of the Clark Fork and frequently fish the local waters for their own satisfaction. They are both active pilots and have been known to fly into the backcountry for a fishing trip or two.

Peggy offers classes focused on helping women become competent, self-sufficient anglers in a fun learning environment. It is a goal of the Temple’s to help lifelong fishing partners share many enjoyable days fishing together. They hope to see you on the river!

Lodging

Lodging is accommodated at Quinns Hot Springs Resort and our local motels are near the shop in St. Regis. If you bring an RV along there are numerous fee free Montana campgrounds right along the river. Take a day off fishing and explore the nearby Hiawatha Bike Trail which takes you over breathtaking trestles and cool long dark railroad tunnels. There is plenty to enjoy along the Clark Fork River.
