Meet the Owner

Obsessive and passionate are two words that could be best used to describe Clark Fork Trout’s owner and outfitter Danner Haskins. Danner Haskins was born and raised near St. Regis, and has fished the waters of western Montana for 15 years, particularly on the Clark Fork. When in college in Dillon, MT., Danner could be found fishing or hunting before and after classes each day, so it’s no surprise that he left school to become a full time hunting and fishing guide a few years ago. His love for fishing is obvious in each and every interaction he has with a potential fishing client or customer. He is a kind and patient instructor for beginners, and has rowing skills that will impress the most experienced of anglers.

When Danner is on the river, you’ll find his girlfriend, Vivien and their black lab puppy, Huck, in the shop together.

Lodging is accommodated at Quinns Hot Springs Resort and our local motels are near the shop in St. Regis. If you bring an RV along there are numerous fee free Montana campgrounds right along the river. Take a day off fishing and explore the nearby Hiawatha Bike Trail which takes you over breathtaking trestles and cool long dark railroad tunnels. There is plenty to enjoy along the Clark Fork River.
