Guides

Clark Fork Trout is fortunate to have a group of excellent guides ready to take you on a “Summer Trip of a Lifetime”. We treat each day as a custom trip tailored to the individuals we are guiding. Each guide is a great fisherman in their own right. Capable and passionate about the river they work on, you will find our guides to be knowledgeable about the bugs on the river and the places you can expect to find fish. Many have guided several seasons and Andrew is the son of our founding father, Brooks Sanford. Brooks still guides numerous rivers and is in high demand when he is not off guiding distant locations. It is always important to book well in advance to make sure we can get you on the river during your trip or vacation.

Brooks Sanford

Brooks has been guiding the Clark Fork since way back in 1997. He lives right here in St. Regis along the banks of the river. Brooks is a local teacher and coaches sports. He has summers off which is just perfect for guiding fishing. You will not find a more knowledgeable river guide and a fine person than Brooks. Come spend a day with our founding father of Clark Fork Fishing.

Andy Cadman

Andy has been guiding fishing and hunting since 2006. He enjoys sharing his passion for fly fishing with others. He has been fly fishing for over 30 years and looks forward to learning something new about the river each day. Andy is a real supporter of catch-and-release fishing, which will serve to protect our rivers and fishery – so that we can all come back tomorrow and do it all over again.

Tim Yeager

Tim comes from a guiding family and spends too much time on Montana’s rivers. Tim teaches school in Missoula and plays a wicked game of golf. The golf swing and fly fishing have a lot in common. Tim has been guiding for us since 2010.

Andrew Sanford

Andrew grew up in a drift boat taught by his dad, Brooks. Andrew has accumulated more knowledge about fish habitat than most of us here at CFT. Andrew attends Montana University, so he also has summers off to guide fishing. Lucky Guy.

Jeff Mirinau

Tough to find an open day with Jeff. He is a champion guide. You will find him all over the state of Montana chasing trout. Jeff guides our shoulder seasons as he has an Elk River Canada operation in August and September. Jeff has accumulated tremendous knowledge of fly fishing, earned over a wide variety of our rivers, streams, and lakes. Be careful asking him to take you fishing somewhere unique or you may find him dragging the boat down miles of farm road to some unnamed river in search of big fish.

Brian Perkins

Brian comes to us guiding fishing after a career in the Marine Corps. If you are ready for a hard charge Marine River Guide, Brian is your guy. Living in Kalispell, he is guiding our lower stretches of the Clark Fork. Top-notch equipment put to work by a top-notch guide.
