Meet the Owners

Steve and Peggy Temple live along the banks of the Clark Fork and frequently fish the local waters for their own satisfaction. The Temples have a son and grandson living in Missoula, which places an increased meaning to passing on the values and experiences of fishing our Montana waters. You are encouraged to call the Temples (406-382-0161) and inquire about the condition of the river, hatches, river flows, river clarity, lodging and camping in our area.

Steve Temple has Guided and Fished Western Montana since 2007

With the great number of fishable rivers and streams here in western Montana there is little reason to venture very far away from our home waters. Raised on trout fishing the Eastern Sierra, fly fishing to all species in all types of waters became a passion groomed over time. Guiding has become a way to transfer some of this knowledge to fellow fishermen. I am particularly fond of carefully teaching those new to fly fishing the skills needed to succeed at a day of fishing from the drift boat. Those new skills learned here on the Clark Fork can then be transferred to stream fishing and mountain lake fishing. For the hard core angler there is nothing more rewarding to both the guide and angler than getting that experienced fisherman onto the big fish we both know lives in a particular spot.

Steve and Peggy live in Superior Montana along the banks of the Clark Fork and frequently fish the local waters for their own satisfaction. Steve is also an active pilot and has been known to fly into the back country for a fishing trip or two. The back country provides some of the same solitude we enjoy on the lower Clark Fork. It is not uncommon to spend a day here on the river and not see another boat, an experience different from the busier rivers like the Snake, Big Horn or Madison. The Temples have a son and grandson living in Missoula which places an increased meaning to passing on the values and experiences of fishing our Montana waters. You are encouraged to call Steve and inquire about the condition of the river, hatches, river flows, river clarity, lodging and camping in our area. Steve Temple 406-382-0161.

Peggy Temple has Fished Along With Steve for More Than 20 Years

Peggy Temple has fished along with Steve for more than 20 years while living here in Montana and Mammoth Lakes in the Eastern Sierra. The allure of fishing in salt and fresh water has drawn me to develop many different fishing styles in wide ranging locations. Having a passion for the sport and love of teaching, I have recently developed a fly fishing class focused on women. We all know it is very difficult for a significant other to teach a sport or technique and I believe women learn better in a non-competitive and friendly atmosphere. My classes focus on helping women become competent, self-sufficient anglers in a fun learning environment. This will allow you to be a lifelong fishing partner to your spouse and share many enjoyable days fishing together.

I am also an active pilot and accompany Steve on many back country fishing expeditions satisfying my love of the out of doors, flying and fishing. Passing this passion on to our son and grandson is one of my favorite family activities. Please join us for a wonderful Montana fishing day. You may contact Peggy to learn about learning the art of fly fishing either in a class or by private lessons at (406) 382-0322 or [email protected].
