Clark Fork River Report. March 30th 2023

The Clark Fork Slo Way to Regis fished best about 3pm on Nymphs. We did find a few fish on top Skwalas but most were coming off the bottom. Water temps at 40s are keeping most still holed up.

Clark Fork River Sept.10,22

Great news, Hoot Owl is off! With smoke haze and lower temps the river has cooled off. The fish are not waking up early so plan on a lazy 9am start. The top water action is still good with hoppers and attractors. Warning! With the water levels in the river lower than we have seen in years there are many rocks exposed! Watch for them in places you are not use to!

Clark Fork River Report: August 18, 2022

The Clark Fork with a visibility of ten feet is flowing at 2,300cfs. Overnight temps of the river are 68 degrees and evening temps rising up to 75 degrees. The fishing restriction “Hoot Owl” is in place where we must quit fishing by 2pm. This is in place across most Montana rivers currently. We get started at 6am to allow for a full day prior to 2pm. The up side is the fish are loving hoppers and there is plenty of top water action. Fish a small size 12 Meadow Hopper in Yellow or Tan. Mid day I am moving over to a tandem para adams trailing a purple haze.
